    Gigabyte GA-I945P-S3 rev1 with F6 BIOS
Dual boot with XP SP2 and Vista Ultimate x86 both fully patched.

    This one has me stumped.

I have 4x1gb IDENTICAL OCZ DDR2 pc4200 (533) RAM modules, but the BIOS is only detecting 3.2gb at boot, thus only allocating XP and Vista the same.

Testing each RAM module individually, all ok, each module is correctly recognised. F6 BIOS is latest version.

    Can anyone help?? Much appreciated.

    Big Liam :)

I believe your BIOS should display your full amount of RAM, but heres the thing:

When in Windows, a 32-bit Operating System can only display up to 4 gigs and NO MORE. (its actually about 3.xx, the rest is used for other hardware...) this is called PAE.

SO my point is, even if your BIOS doesnt display 4 gigs, your still only using up 3 gigs for your operating systems. Have you tried switching up the RAM in different slots?

Tech, Graphics card is Radeon X1650 pro

Scorps, My BIOS is only displaying 3.2gb not 4gb, the RAM isnĀ“t even being reported correctly there. I have tried switching the RAM yes. I have had 2x1gb + 2x512mb giving total of 3gb in the ystem for a year now with no problems which leads me to believe there is no problem with the slots on the mobo.

Thank you both for your help so far..

    Big L
