    OK
    Hi everyone
Ive been trawling across the net and Ive been trying to find the answer to this question:
How can I fit a new graphics card to my laptop?
So far Ive found no clear answers.
Apparently I can buy a U.S.B card adapter. If this method works then I'm looking for one under £40.
The thing is I have this blue port at the back of my laptop (with 15 holes) that I think I can connect a monitor to. Does this have anything to do with a graphics card.
If anyone can answer the above question clearly then that would be great.
    Thanks.

Some laptops can have an different graphics board installed internally, but i've never come across one personally. I doubt very much that your laptop will provide such a facility.

I have never heard of an USB graphics adapter before. If such a thing did exist, it would not be very good. The USB architecture is not up to the job.

Oh and the blue port on the back is for an external monitor.

The simple answer is no! ;)

Most laptops have an integrated graphics chip on the motherboard, which cannot be removed / replaced. For this reason, laptops are not ideal for gaming, and desktop PC's / game consoles are much better.

    Hey thanks a lot guys.
I guess your right so theres nothing left for me to do but find a new computer or laptop if I want to game. While I'm here can I give some advice on buying better gaming computers (if I'm allowed). Buying a high spec computer is expensive retail wise but I find its usually better on people exchange systems. e.g ebay.
So I guess thats where I'm heading.

    Thank you :)

P.S. I'm especially looking for a PC to play The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and games of this demand (specification wise). Any recommendations would be great (especially for a laptop that meets the demands).:D

I am not really a gamer myself so I'll leave the PC recommendations to someone else. The only gaming I do nowadays is through emulating old Sega MegaDrive games :D

    Ok cool.
Just like playing game boy games on my phone. :)
But the new stuff...I like the bigger screens and more controls makes the game feel good for some reason. A game pad with a computer is even better :D.
If anyone has any recommendations that would be great if not I guess I'll ask on a different thread more specific to the question.

    Thanks guys and girls. :D

I was reading on another forum that you could buy Express Card (big whole in the side of your computer) to PCIe convertors for a graphics card. I don't think that they are cheap though but it might be worth you looking into.

That blue thing with 15 holes is called a VGA output. It's for plugging in devices such as a monitor or projector so that you can either project what's on your screen or use another monitor for duel view purposes (couldn't live without it). So yes, the answer is you can plug another monitor into that.

    An express card you say?
    I'll look into that.
If you have a link that would be great.

By the way guys and girls I'm kind of new to this forum so I just wanted to know how to add that little message at the bottom of each one of my posts.
    Thanks
