I want to boot linux from a Zip Drive. I am not sure what type of a zip drive i should get (USB, ATAPI, or Parallel port) because i do not know which type my motherboard expects to be there. The motherboard is an Asus P4PE. In the BIOS's boot menu there is an option to boot from an external device and the Zip drive option is there.

So can anyone with experience in Asus motherboards know what Zip drive i should buy?

Thanks for all your time and help

Zip drives aren't as common nowadays as they used to be, but if I had to choose one to boot linux from it would always be usb or parallel, since reading a zip from IDE ports is a real slow process. You would do better using a usb thumb/flash drive since they read a whole lot faster. Also remember that there are Linux Distro's designed especially for memory stick installation.
