    Hello
need little help with getting gear to startup, please :)

i bought new but when i boot all the fans spin but i get no picture at all.

here's my machine (all new except memory and CPU):

    GPU: SAPPHIRE HD 4850 PCI-E 512MB GDDR-3 HDMI
    Mobo: ALiveXFire-eSATA2 R3.0
    PSU: COMPUCASE PSU 550W 12CM ATX12V2.0

    • i have no other devices installed.
    • red light blinks in the graphics card.
    • i get no bleeps either but i know the speaker is working

i doupt the problem is with broken graphics card or anything because i also tried geforce 7800 LE which doesnt even require power cord but no post with that either.

tricky thing is i cant enter the bios because there is no integrated graphics card :\

    any tips are welcome!
    thx!

Does the graphics card have a PCI-E power connection? If so, make sure that the Power Supply is also directly connected to the graphics card, as the power supplied by the PCI Express card slot is not sufficient to juice the graphics cards of these days.

Make sure everythin is seated correctly and nothing is lose. Then try resetting the cmos again if it posts and you keep having the same issues where it doesn't post after 3 attempts, download the latest bios and flash utility. Create a bootable cd along with the bios flash utility e.g. AFUDOS and the bios update. then perform the bios update. Once updated see how it acts if your getting the same issues it will most likely be motherboard issues faulty bios. But hopefully the bios update might fix it.

ty for the replies. I dont know what was the cause of initial problems because now the computer starts regularry and only rarely i have to reset the BIOS.
so i still dunno where the actual problem is....... but im pretty happy of the current performance.
