    Good Evening,

New here, and love trying new things. I have recently handled a completly dead laptop which was not worth fixing (new mobo needed). Anyway before scrapping it I decided to remove the built in webcam and my plan is to make it into an external USB Cam.

So I now have the small circuit board with the optical sensor on it and the 4 pin cable from the circuit board to the motherboard. I was going to get an old USB Male to Female extension cable. Chop the female end of the cable off and then attach the cables to the webcam board.

The thing is I actually don't know what cables connect to what :-( and I was wondering if someone can help me.

The cables that are currently coming out of the device (as looking at it from the front/looking at the lense) are as follows:

    1: Black
2: Grey / or light blue (my eyes are failing me lol)
    3: Orange
4: Dead pin nothing plugged into it
    5: White

Cable 1 and 2 are wrapped around each other.

Now at the other end of the cable the cables are ordered as:

    1: White
    2: Black
    3: Grey / light blue
    4: Orange

    Anyone have any idea?
