    Hi.
So the other day I was playing Skyrim when suddently the screen went haywire and the system shut down (the specs are in my signature). After like 6 seconds it tried to start up again which is wierd because it seemed to be off, and nothing. The display is on standby and all fans spin at what seems to be their respective max rpm. Something that would happen normally for a few seconds while the system initializes, but now it seems to not be able to initialize.

Any suggestions except hardware swapping (i guess i will have to do that anyway, but well...)? I already tried to disconnect some parts (not the ram though), reset cmos and similar things all to no avail. Some hardware part must have died since the system has been working quite fine for the past two years (the video card is newer - i have had it for 8 months or something).

All of this is completely out of the blue, since ive never experienced sny such problems before.

    Thanks!

    EDIT: Some keywords for SOE.

How long where you on playing this game before it went out ? It sounds like it got hot and shut down... Check all fans for cooling problem..

I was playing for like 30 minutes. But as I said before - all temps were normal last I checked + I have played demanding games for much longer time periods and this problem never occoured - nothing ever occoured - no BSODs or any spontaneous restarts. Around 35 C for the video card at idle and 27 C for the CPU at idle.

On a sidenote (nothing on the list helped):
    1. I removed one RAM stick
    2. I disconnected all SATA and IDE hardware

Soon I will test out a known working video card. Have to start somewhere.

Sad thing is that I don't have a case speaker...

Took the PC to the shop. Turns out the PSU is only partly giving out current. Something must've burned up in there... the good man said that the PSU is not givin the power OK signal and that the FANs are spinning because 5V or 12V (can't remember which exactly) is still working. So, not enough juice to start up. Well ... sucks, but at least I know the problem. Will be getting a new PSU ASAP.
