I have an HP pavilion p7-1010z and there is room in the i/o assy. For two more usb ports. Could anyone help me as to how to install the extension cables into the i/o panel? My motherboard has two usb headers, and only one is being used at the moment.

I think you might be better off just buying a USB hub...

Never mind. I figured it out. A little thorough scrutiny does wonders. lol All I need to do is:
    1. order a similar HP I/O panel
    2. dismantle it and take the USB header cable out of it
    3. crack open my existing I/O panel to put the extra ports in (the I/O panel is a two-piece plastic housing in a metal brace that holds it in.)
    4. put everything back together!
    5. then go around the label from the back of the bezel with an X-Acto to open the ports to the world. and sand things down a bit to make it look nice ^_^
