Anyone know of some good free software for testing pc's? I've got PC Doctor on my laptop, but I can't remember if it came with it, and I want something for my new pc. Went onto the PC Doctor website to see if they had anything, but it was about as user friendly as a poke in the eye! :swt:

    Cheers :good:

What to test for? Benchmarking or diagnosis?

Ummm... not sure. In short, I'm using an IBM R32 laptop, which is acting up. It takes an age to boot up - although I know laptops take longer than pc's - and half of the time it doesn't recognise my dvd/cd-rw at all. Then, when I've been using it for a while, its just kind of stop playing the cd for about 30 secs, then resumes. Also sometimes it stops, and you know when you're usind WMPlayer (version 10) and it shows a tick alongside all the tracks to play, well a load of yellow exclamation marks appear instead and it won't do anything. Did that earlier on. It swithched it off for a couple hours, now it's working ok.
Anyway, back to the point, that's what I was running the test on but PC Doctor was saying the 'cannot run test' for it as though it wasn't installed.
So anyway I'd like to get something that will let me know everything's working on my new pc.
