I have so many passwords that I can just about remember them, and I'm a bit skeptical about using password manager programs to protect - seems to me that if someone can hack into nasa, then they sure as hell can hack into a password program. So anyway my beef about Windows XP is I accidentally entered my most important password which I don't want to change into the username window, and now as soon as you click on that window, it gives a little dropdown box with my password - and username - as clear as day for anyone to see. Why does it do that? I never asked it to remember it. So anyway, I tried deleting cookies, temporary files, clear history, and it's still flaming there. What can I do? Thanks.

P.S. I know I should change my password from time to time, I just don't wanna. He he... and it's not for porn, it's somethin else. :D

uh you could try removing the password from User accounts and then adding it again.

Sorry... I should have clarified it more... the password is on an internet site... not when I log into my computer

    oh I see

are you using FireFox or Internet Explorer?

Note if you are still using IE, then it is likely that your passwords have already been mailed out to several million people already. (just joking although it is a likely possibility)

If you are on FireFox, then you can go Tools>>Options>>Privacy>>and clear the password from the sites listed in there.

As far as I know, you have to reinstall IE to get rid of saved form information.

I'm using IE. Still more clarification... I didn't save my password in the username field when registering on the site, it's just that when i went to sign in, i entered it in the username field, and it seems to remember it. Anyways, if someone logged in, they wouldn't understand what they were looking at, but if they started press buttons could screw a lot of things up. I suppose I should use my common sense & change my password, d'you think.

On a side note, I did start using Opera before and really liked it, it's just that some sites don't seem to like it very much, you click commands and nothing happens.
    Might give firefox a try.

Yeah it remembers it because of "Auto Fill", which can be turned off but I'm not familiar with IE.

Give Firefox a try, it really is better.
