Aren't they too slow for games? Should I stick with CRT or will going to LCD work just fine?

Depends on what you get. My Acer laptop TFT is very good for games, unlike some other's I've seen. Can't notice any ghosting on it. But some cheap models can have high latencies, (over 16ms) and that causes ghosting.

If you want to save space and also have good gaming, you'll need to get a TFT that has a latency thats low.

Yep, try to get a mid-range priced TFT with atleast 8ms and you'll be ok.

my TFT is a Medion 17" lcd, Only cost £100, contrast ratio is 500:1 or somthing, and it has a 12ms response, someone over at rage 3d seem to think that 8ms and above cause ghosting, i get no ghosting, but i get wierd lines appearing and then flashing, in the top left of my monitor in some light areas :\.
