On the google website or any other site, where one has to type a query,, when I type a word with the letter a, i.e. when I press the key `a', it behaves like the backpage key. When I highlight a sentence, and press Left Control Key and C to copy the highlighted text, just pressing the Left Control Key, the sentence gets replaced by a open aphostrope. Is my keyboard hijacked by spyware? Please help me. Thanks
sounds as if spyware could be the :swear: culprit, unless you've being messing with keyboard remapping
Can coolwebsearch spyware do such damage? I have removed this spyware 3 times in the past few days with spybot - s&d. Another spyware which is troubling me is mysearch-myweb, which I cannot remove completely. Now even sometimes, keys `w', 'r', 'o' and 'e' don't work, i.e. I have to press these keys many times before any of these letters appear on the screen. Thanks for the help.
how old is the keyboard ? have you tried a differerent keyboard ? try uninstalling & reinstalling it try this adware software (free for personal use) your keyboard may need cleaning, remember where the keys go (or take a photo of the keyboard) and just prise the keys up with a small flat blade screwdriver, to put the keys back just put them in place and press the key until it clicks into place
Right this second, The Enter key on the numeric keyboard is not functioning at all. Please someone help before the entire keyboard dies in front of my eyes. Thanks
It is a new keyboard, and I have installed & reinstalled the driver also. I have adaware personal installed on my computer. It seems I will have to call a hardware engineer to rectify this problem or buy a new keyboard. Thanks very much for the help.
Thanks for the responses I apologise for the late response. All these days getting a Request Timed Out message, but it has been rectified by our ISP. I haven't tried a new keyboard, but this problem occured with my earlier two keyboards also. I have another query. Can any keylogger also create this problem? Thanks
if it is a PS/2 keyboard then if you removed or inserted the PS/2 connector while your pc was turned on then you could well have damaged your PS/2 port, a keyboard & mouse is only hot pluggable in a USB port EDIT: i've never heard of a keylogger causing this problem, but i could be wrong EDIT: have you being playing with a keyboard remapper
Guilty as charged. Yes, as I remember unplugging my mouse & keyboard while the computer was on, even with the previous keyboards, without knowing that it may damage them. What should I do now to rectify this.
well the easiest thing to do is use a PS/2 to USB adaptor or try another keyboard or get a USB keyboard well russiaman you were lucky i don't know the "hows" & "whys" i just know it works in my expirience, your keyboard may work on a different pc but probably won't work again on your pc, arn't pc's pathetic
Thanks to all of you for helping me solve this problem. Will do it. Will be more careful next time. As for pc's being pathetic, got no choice. Apple Macintosh is very expensive in India.
