Hey all, I passed the New Jersey PRAXIS "social studies content knowledge" test. This officially makes me a certified secondary school teacher in NJ. I’m doing my student teaching this semester, then its job hunting in January. In a few short months I get to join the world of mediocre pay with good health benefits! In case you’re wondering, I got a B, 160 score out of 200. If I studied would have done better, unfortunately the economics section was annoying. I did alright considering I never took any econ courses in college. Nevertheless, i'm glad thats done and over with! Time to hit the gym.
Thanks guys, I just finished my first official day of school. It wasn't so bad, i didn't have any "tough guy" students. Besides the staff being utterly chaotic, my actual classes went pretty smoothly, Hopefully it stays that way.:teacher:
Dang, man! U got all that stuff done already? U do have to get a bachelors degree dont u? Did u finish it like 2 or 3 yrs instead of 4?
I went to a 4 year college, Rutgers University, in New Jersey. Even though i completed all the requirements for graduation, i won't get my diploma until i finish student teaching (this December). So because of the education program i am staying 4 1/2 years instead of 4. It would have been longer if i didn't take summer courses.
LOL right now i'm a student/teacher, you can imagine the internal conflict of love/hate going on in my brain!! Part of me wants to cheat, the other part wants to put me in detention.
