Dvd Re-write Recognised As Cd Drive

    Hi all,
    for some reason the Liteon External DVD -+RW that I have conected via USB to my Windows ME (!!) system is only being seen as a CR drive instead of a DVD drive in My Computer. I have reinstalled the NERO s/w supplied with the drive but no joy. Anyone got an idea ?

    In the first instance I'd check the hard/software manufacturers website for FAQs. Other than that, sorry, no idea.

    Ooh, actually... Try playing a DVD on it. Even though it says it recognises it as a CD just try a DVD.

    have you unistalled the drivers got updated drivers rebooted and installed new drivers - does that work
