Ah, that would do it then, I don't remember any game where I put on the hardest setting. I know my capabilities far too well.

Contra Shattered Soldier on PS2....memorize or DIE...play it on normal or hard...3 lives and 3 continues? One hit kills? DAMN THAT GAME! but i love it!

Capcom VS SNK2 on the hardest difficulty, any system...fighting Shin Akuma or U. Rugal....seriously man that pissed me off.

Devil May Cry 3. (not the redone version) Fighting Virgil on hard or dante must Die. patience is key....not for me..

    Gran Turismo A Spec

Reducing me to tears after I spent hours trying to do those crappy driving tests.
I never got far in gran turismo games, the tests were just too hard :(

Yeah I'd be terrible at that, GTA:SA's driving school on the second island kicked my butt so bad, it took me ages to get past that part.

Lol I can't believe I am gonna say this, but, 'jet set radio future' on the Xbox! That game almost killed me - I just couldn't get past like the 5th stage or something - I was more stuck than a fat bloke deciding whether to eat a salad or Macdonald's lol. I got so frustrated with the game I almost had a break down after months of trying to figure out what to do - after that I kinda felt depressed lol, became a recluse and almost had an anurism after all that anger - my blood pressure levels must have shot through the roof lol!!!

Another game which gave me a similar issue was the 'Thing' on the Xbox - however, unlike jet set, I eventually managed to complete it after a month or 2 away from the game.

Oh yeah i forgot about the mortal kombat games, well the ones for the ps2 anyways, seriously they get me frustrated. Also Blitz: the league, that stuff frustrated me. Why would they make it so you can't build your team, choose which players play, AND FRIGGIN HAVE STORY DRIVIN INJURIES THAT DESTROY YOUR QB FOREVER

    What about Championship Manager?
I would always love that game for a couple of months and then get really angry with it. It was always so random, one game you would win like 5-1 or something and then lose 2-0 against a worse team.

FarCry has recently caused a bit of frustration. It's a great game and a real good experience overall but some of those checkpoints are just so poorly placed it can be awfully annoying at times. It's not too bad but I think a simple quite save function would have made a lot more sense, especially concidering it's one of the hardest FPS's I've ever played.
Halo 1 on PC also manages to do this. There are some points that I just had to do over and over untill I figured out the right course of action. And all along I'd have to listen to some of the same dialog over and over again. It's better than no-interuptable cutscenes though, now that's a cardinal sin.

Really, man I hope I don't get frustrated with Lego Starwars, that game looked so bright and cheery, but yeah save points can always change that. UI? did you mean AI dude?

nope... UI as in user interface lol - not very friendly, its a bit crap too - i mean, the game as whole is a laugh but the save points are pants, ai a little dull, not to sharp but as a whole the game is brill.

Ohhh, got it man, must have slipped my mind as I was familiar with GUI and all. Go figure.
It's weird though about saving in games. I can understand a console game resorting to that without ample memory storage space for quick saves but I can't see why any PC game shouldn't offer at least manual saves, especially games built from the ground up for PC's.

I too don't have any clue why game makers do those checkpoints as the only retry possibility in a game... many games get lower ratings because of stupid checkpoint systems and people think twice whether or not to buy that game.

As much as I saw, nobody mentioned a saving system, which is something like a hybrid - you can save, but only a limited amount of times (Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix). That's tolerable and gives a certain spice to the game, especially if you can also put the save limit to unlimited (for rookie players and easy-level playing and again such thing is found is SoF2: DH).
