advent built in webcam

    i have a advent 5401 notebook with a built-in web cam and i find it just impossible to use it, i lost the drivers and now i just can`t find them anywhere. pls help me

    This might help. Try downloading the first driver on that page.
    Also try Windows update.

    i`m very thankful, i have seen that page before, thing is i don`t know witch one i should download, don`t take me for an idiot but i can`t see witch one is for the web cam. Should i take the chipset or witch one.
    pls reply.

    Yes i want you click on the first link there; the blue one.
    I made it a bit easier just click here, save the file, and install it.

    Hope this solves the problem

    I`ve don that, and still nothing, I have alredy istalled the chipset driver when i rebooted my notebook but i think it does not contain drivers or softwere or something for the web cam, whenever i try to use it it asys that it is not conected, how can i conect something that is built in.
    do you have any other suggestions?

    This is what it says

    Here what to do if you are one of the many who are having this problem
    Go to
    Control Panel >> System Maintenance >> Device Manager

    Go to Imaging Devices and right-click “USB 2.0 Camera" and
    choose "Update Driver Software"

    Problem is i don`t have ``usb 2.0 camera`` in imaging devices i just have Xerox WorkCentre Pro Scanner :(
    what do i do now?

    have a try to download some universal webcam drivers.use google search

    I`m so sorry but i checked on google and there is no such thing as a universal web cam driver, according to a site i found it is impossible to have such a drive tacking in consideration the fact that each one works differently and each one has different mpx
    btw 10x for the idea it was worth a try:)
