Hiya, I would really appreciate some advice on this topic, first off I am a TOTAL n00b when it comes to laptops (as in knowing what to get, I can use them no problems). But I'm thinking of buying a laptop soon and I was wondering if anyone here could recommend something to me, keeping in mind I'm not looking for anything ground-breaking, just something that looks nice, does the job and is relativley cheap. What I'm gonna need it do (at the least) is: USB slots for webcam/mouse Wireless LAN card Simple documents (for uni course) Use of MSN/Skype/AIM Ability to plug in a headphone/mic combo Thanks for any help provided.
I would recommend getting an IBM thinkpad. What's your pricerange, and those are the only programs you'll run?
Pretty much that's it program-wise, not to mention Firefox (obviously). My estimated price range is up to £500 if all goes well methinks.
I was looking around Savastore and overclockers last night and I thought this might be just what I need: http://www.savastore.com/productinf...vastore&product_id=10281733&pid=5&rstrat=3180
The one you picked out looks nice, or there's this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834115186
I've had some bad expirience with acer and they have lousy customer services. http://www.savastore.com/productinfo/product.aspx?catalog_name=Savastore&product_id=10281476&pid=5 more ram and that would be a pretty nifty laptop
Wait a minute, you said you don't care for acer but the link is to an Acer lappy, *scratches head*. I think it looks good too though.
Thanks for the help guys, I'll be sure to do some price comparisons between those and the ones in my local stores. Doubt those will be cheaper, the cheapest one I've seen is like £899.99 and they say "It's under £900!" Yeah... a penny under... [expletive deleted]
