    Hey guys!

Im new here, and also new to laptops and hardware in general. I know a decent amount about software and i know components in the hardware, but i dont really know what does what.

Anyways my question is what is THE best gaming laptop for under $3k? I've personaly narrowed it down to 2 laptops, although im open to all suggestions. I have reasons that it needs to be a laptop, and i understand that they dont compete with desktops, but i just want something that can run all the games i play smoothly on medium/high graphics. I play League of Legends, Starcraft 2, Guild wars (2 when it comes out), Star Wars the Old Republic, Just Cause 2, and plan to start World of Warcraft soon.

The two laptops ive looked at are http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Battalion_101_P170HM_Gaming_Laptop and http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-m18x/pd

So, Which one is better, obviously the Battalion is cheaper, but is it significantly worse than the alienware? any other suggestions?

    THANKS GUYS!

Get the Batallion. The difference in GPU's isn't great. The 6990 is better. And also because it comes with an SSD! Alienware has great laptops but when it comes down to price you're paying to have their logo.

I personally prefer MSI. The MSI GT70 is not a bad choice, this laptop is the beast. Able to run any game you throw at it at max 1080p and able to run smoothly and any program you run without a problem.

Custom built laptops by system builders is expensive relative to laptops from manufacturers. If you want customized laptop of your choice, you can go to system builder (+$$$) or go find a good DELL/Alienware/MSI/ASUS laptop that will pretty much do the same job for you.

I just posted about mobile computers from Auto ID Savings. Have you ever heard of them? Every forum that I have posted on about mobile computers and recommendations, that is what people have been recommending. I know they have a ton of different types and customization options. Let me know if you have heard of them!
