Hi, i have this Patriot PBK450/1, which was given to me. I have encountered a few problems whilst trying to do it up a bit...

Firstly, when installing Linux, it was always having problems with the graphics and ethernet ports (which are onboard).

Also, if I rebooted the computer, the display never switched on at restart.

Now, when i turn the computer on, the monitor doesn't come on atall, even when i hit the restart button.

    Help please!

    Cheers, Matt Stevenson.

Try clearing CMOS by removing the battery on the motherboard for at least 10 seconds. Put it back in and fire it up.

No joy, the monitor didn't even hint at turning on.

    Check for loose connections.

The screen has probably had it.

No apparent loose connections, but the screen is working fine with another computer...

For whatever reason, I thought you had a laptop

Can you confirm that power is getting to the graphics card? Does the fan spin? Can you try a different graphics card?

There are no PCI slots on the motherboard, and, no expansion slots. It has onboard graphics, and according to Redhat 7, it's a Trident Cyberblade.

Run [google]Memtest[/google] and see if you're coming up with memory errors.

i've had that problem, basically with unusual errors remove and reinsert the graphics card, since you have onboard graphics remove and reinsert RAM if tht doesn't work swap the RAM DIMM's around (obviously NOT into a different coloured slot than it was originally in - hope this helps.

Hey, I already tried replacing the RAM with two completely different sticks, and that didn't work either.
