I am attempting to install a Dell GX240 motherboard into a ATX case... This will take some heavy Modding...So far I was able to get the Dell Motherboard into the New ATX Mid tower case, But ,there was some cutting and re drilling.. Next is the rear fan cooling system.. then the front panel wiring,,,
How do you go about cutting the board? I understand that you make cuts where only redundant plastic is present but how do you cut it to make sure nothing snaps, crackles or pops?
Not cutting the board,Have to Cut the case... The motherboard has to be moved down one hole PCI slot. So the Video card will start in the second PCI slot. Just finishing installing the Dell power supply, next is the front control panel wiring, then the cooling system..
No, just me feeling like a pratt thinking you are hacking away at a motherboard.... Just misunderstood you....
Well, I got the cooling system fixed and was able to use all the Dell hardware, next is the front control panel ...(Wiring) ...
Almost done, Was able to figure out Dells wiring and was able to fire it up last night... I got everything to work, except the hard drive LED, but that is a minor fix.. I had to move the motherboard down one hole PCI slot, so that I can use dell power supply, Since Dell is an Odd ball and proprietary , you must use most of there parts.. I will take pictures when done..
