dual channel memory question

    Hi , i have an asrock dual sata mobo setup which supports dual channel memory , at the moment all i have available is one stick of 512mb kingston memory , if i put just one stick in the system will it still work ok ? i dont wana blow anything up !! :eek:hah:

    it depends did it mention anything about ur memory being dual channel capable?

    if its capable preferably the same stick added into the system will enable DC
    wat speed is it, and do u have the model #?

    To answer your question, yes you can happily use one stick with the system. However if you want to utilise dual channel memory you'll need to buy another stick of RAM of the same brand and model otherwise it won't work. Dual channel offers about a 10% boost in memory intensive operations.
