my pc has now stopped rebooting as i have 4 chasis fans and a cooler master HSF which i am v.plzed with. however my computer for some bezarre reason seems to turn the monitor off once i try to run anything in full screen such as a game (word is fine e.t.c) the graphics card is new a 9200se 128mb, and it happened with the old card an 7500 64mb as well. ive tested the card with the mobo in my brothers computer and they both work fine. the only things i havn't replaced are: the cpu: (1.3 duron) CDRW DVDROM HHD 1 (20gb) HHD 2 (20gb) arghhhhhhh! plz help its really strange and annoying a i cant run any games my specs for media machine: 1.3GHZ Duron M848ALU 2.1 512 Corsair pc2700 NEC 5800A DVD 16x Memorex 12x10x32 Seagate 20gb HHD (C: 5200rpm) Maxtor 20gb HHD (D: 7200rpm) Radeon 9200SE 128mb 300W PSU
Does the machine actually lock up, or are you just losing the display? Does sound still play while the monitor is off, can you Ctrl+Alt+Del your way out, etc...
right i found the problem, if anyone buys a replacement board make sure you know what FSB your processor runs at by default as i am running an older version of the DUron (1300mhz) and runs a 100mhz my new board default runs at 133mhz and so ineffect was overclocked without me knowing! thus coursing the instability. YAY!
