    Hi,

I have a server which was located at a data center and the server have AMD Opteron 6164HE processor, and since it was inside a 1U box, the CPU heat sink was a Dynatron solution. This one.[IMG]
I took the server home and since this server is making tons of noise, I moved the board and disks to a standard mini tower. Everything works, but this cooler making lots of noise and since I don't have a garage to put it there (it will be located in my room) the noise is a big issue.

I have seen a desktop variant for a G34 socket based cooler (like this one: Noctua NH-U12DO A3), but it's very expensive (100+ dollars including shipping) which sounds a bit absurd.

What would you suggest I should do if I want to use this machine as a quite desktop?

    Thanks,
    Hetz
