    Hi guys,

I'm building a PC and have a Asrock K8SLI motherboard and an Asus Nvida 6600LE Graphics card.

Now, my problem is that when it's all powered up the monitor isn't detecting a signal from the g-card. Any ideas?

    I've already tried the following:
    - Made sure the g-card is bedded properly.
    - It has a power supply because the fan works on it.
    - I tested the monitor on another system.
    - I've tried it in other PCI-E slots.

Is it dead do you think? Any help or advice is appreciated. Cheers guys!

That's happening to me too, I have a Asus A8N-SLi Mobo and a Gainward 7800GT 512MB - make sure all power connectors are rightly connected to the motherboard. This is what I think my problem is as Im 4-pins short :p

right, good, now check cable from monitor to graphics card (disconnect, look for any bent pins, reconnect)

The both monitors work on my existing system fine.
But neither work on the one I'm building.

    CHEERS!!!

Is it possibly dead? Or does the fact of the fan working mean it aint?
I can send it back if its dead y'see. :)

Friend of mine said it might be the jumper config. ?? I'll take a look.

Okay, so far further recomendations I've got are:
    - The PSU isn't powerfull enough. It's an old 250w.
    - The jumpers need setting but there is no built in g-card so I don't think this is the case.

    Anyone agree? Disagree?

I think it will be the power supply, you shouldent even be running the card in there with a 250w power supply, i think nvidia will reccomend 300w min for the graphics card, also what is thye make and model of that power supply?, i rekon the 12v rails on that 250w power supply will have low amps.

i think you should defenitly buy a new power supply, especially if your going to think about upgrading that computer even further!

you shouldent need to be setting any jumpers on your motherboard for it to work :s

Excellent! That's been the general concencus all round.

Further evidence suggests this to be so. The CD player won't open/close either.

    Will try that one.

    Thanks a million guys.

    no problem dude :)

the only jumpers you should ever have to set, are on cd rom's and hard drives, configuring them for master or slave, there is some on the motherboard though, for sound and other things like that, but not for graphics, unless your motherboard is super old!, which it is not becouse its PCI-E :)
