Just thought it was time to say a big thank you to HWF for all the help the membership has given me since I joined. Going from a complete noob, I have now built several systems for other people and I could not have done this without you guys. Your contributions have been an invaluable source of knowledge that has spurred me on to increase my knowledge of computers. HWFs is superb and the membership is the most helpful and courteous to all, be they noobs or nerds (and I mean the latter in the nicest possible way).

So, a big up to HWF! What makes HWFs the best - simple, the ever helpful membership. Keep up the good work guys!

    David.

Thanks for the kind words. :) Like yourself, I stopped in late autumn 2003 for a little peer support on a weird mobo problem, and was so impressed by the community I became a regular myself.

yep, they still keep trying to blind with science, but that soon goes away when you say "bu11shit" and then tell them how a router actually works, then they suddenly say "erm, erm, erm dunno" & that is fun, & i also tell them i'm using Debian (cos i am now & thats fun too cos they don't have a clue but at least i've got my Kubuntu experience to fall back on

on a separate note, i'm having probs with email too & virgin tried to tell me not to access my mail server for about 3 days, to which i said "bo11ocks" & just enabled "Leave messages on server" so i can still receive mail

BTW: tech support @ ISPs don't like it when you come across as knowing more than they do, i can't wait till i know a lot more like AT

    :good:

Blimey, takes me back to the reason why I joined up to HWF in my fake "Jon Benge" guise - to slag of VIA... LOL. "Memories, oh precious memories" as that old song goes...
