HDMI Cables

I bought a HDMI cable which is producing picture only without sound.
Is this a poor quality cable, or I need to adjust the DVD?

 

What devices are you connecting with this cable?

 

A samsung HD870 DVD Player and Sony T.V. S series.

 

Okay. Well, make sure that you don't have any audio outputs plugged in on the HDMI output of the DVD player and none of the inputs linked with the HDMI connection on the TV. I don't know if this applies to every TV, but some may allow for a separate audio input in lieu of the stream typically transferred by the HDMI cable.
