Ive got an ibook. The power adpater is knackered and you have to blow (yes,BLOW!) on the plug until the battery icon says its charging/plugged into the mains.

When I run off the battery I have an icon of a battery which tells you roughly how much charge there is in the battery.

When I plug the power supply in I sometimes get a two pin plug in the systray and sometimes a lightning bolt.

Whats the difference? I have to make sure there is charge in the battery otherwise I cant turn the thing on because I dont know when its running off the battery or the mains.

Christ, I hate this thing. You cant uninstall programs or maximise the internet browser and the keys are so sensitive ive probably pressed backspace more times than I have letters. I think ibook G4 really means ibook good 4 (nothing!)
