Went and watched Ian Brown live last night, was pretty funky (from the stone roses).

He changed his support band from some rock group to a mad bunch of Japanese MC & beat boxing crew..

They were beat boxing and MCing in Japanese - very funny, they also had races liike one would try to down a pint before the MC would finish spitting a full song, and the MC would try to finish spitting a full song before the beat boxer could down the pint.. very surreal..

much more entertaning than ian brown i thought lol!

I saw Ian in Old Street last year! He was walking on his own down the street with his head down, minding his own business!

The Roses produced some great songs. Elephant Man, I wanna be adored and waterfall to name a few. I keep meaning to buy Second Coming, but it's not a touch on their first.

Do you recall their fateful Glastonbury appearance?

This probably sound really pretentious and patronising but
I am quite disappointed to hear this.....
I always held Ian as a bit of a misunderstood genius.
I have one or two of his albums and the Stone Roses greatest.
Sound to me like he lost his way a bit.
Maybe he is just going through an experimenting phase…..

I agree, I lost interest after the Roses split. I don't really care for johnny Squires solo stuff either, although he is still a great guitarist.
