just one quick comment on the monitor. that seems like a good monitor, but it also seems very expensive for a 19 inch.
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?Sort=4&Nav=|c:170|&Recs=30
that link at tigerdirect has several 19" monitors that are much cheaper.
    NEC ASLCD193WXM-BK 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 5ms, 1000:1, WXGA+ 1440x900, DVI, Black, Built-In Speakers at TigerDirect.com
    Samsung 906BW 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 2ms, 700:1(DC 2000:1) Contrast Ratio, WXGA+ 1440x900, Gloss Black, DVI, D-sub, 16:10 Aspect Ratio at TigerDirect.com
the two monitors i just listed right there are pretty good i think, and you could save about $70 or $80

    Configuration 28:

    Motherboard: Asus, P5K-E/WiFi-AP (Intel P35) - $165
    Processor: Intel, Core 2 Duo E4400 (2.0GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 800MHz FSB) - $135
    Memory: Geil, 2x2GB (GX24GB6400DC, PC2-6400, DDR2-800MHz) - $115
    Graphics Card: Sapphire, Radeon HD 3850 (21121-00-20R, GDDR3-256MB) - $215
    Hard Drive: Seagate, 500GB (ST3500630AS, 16MB cache, 7200RPM) - $150
    Optical Drive: Samsung, DVD+/-RW DL (SH-S203B, 20x) - $30
    Chassis: Cooler Master, Centurion 534+ (3x120mm - front, rear, side) - $100
    Power Supply: be quiet!, 350W (BQT E5-350W) - $85

    Display: LG, Flatron L1954TQ (19-inch, TN) - $280
    Speakers: Edifier, R1900TIII (2.0) - $80
    Keyboard: Pleomax, PKB-4500 (USB, multimedia) - $15
    Mouse: Logitech, RX250 (USB, optical) - $10

    Total: $995/$1380

Under $1000 ($995) for PC it self and $385 for peripherals... I think, that this configuration is good (at least fine).

Got back to one HDD, because I've calculated, that everything will be alright... 400GB for C:\ (software) and 100GB for D:\ (storage).

What's so special about these peripherals? Well... this monitor/display has a contrast ratio of 5000:1 and brightness of 300. Speakers are 30W each. Keyboard has notebook x-keys with no sound of pressing. Mouse is optical with 1000dpi. So, sorry for not listening to your suggestion - I'll still consider your advice, thanks. ;)

Waiting on your comments and corrections (if such would be).

yeah that looks pretty good to me. i cant see anything wrong with it. are you going to be assembling it yourself? sorry if you answered that in another post but im on a really slow computer at a friends house, so it takes like five minutes for the pages to load

Well... I'd wish, that I would assemble it myself, if I could know how to do this. Acually, I'm planning to give some cash on a delivery to my place, then invite some IT professionals from some organization, so they could assemble it right in front of my eyes... it would be very cool. ...that will cost too.

Edited: Talking 'bout slow computer... I'm on a 8 years old right now, another one (as a server) is about 9 years old. Can't wait to get this babe assembled and running it's first time!

Haha, $1000 for PC - GREAT! How you like it? Changed back to ATI after a bit of researches... in 256MB ATI rocks.

It's not a full new configuration, but with as much correct prices, as possible.

P5K motherboard... what you'll say? 2.0GHz processor... do I really need more? 4GB of memory... needed for Windows Vista (Ultimate)... right? GeForce 8800 GS... better, than Radeon HD 3850 (good choice)? Two HDDs on 250GB - one as a system HDD and other as a storage HDD... any corrections? ODD - DVD+/-RW DL, 20x with LightScribe... best from Samsung? Chassis... could you find a better one? PSU - 400W from be quiet!... will it be really quiet and good?

    Thanks...
