No Audio Device Is Installed

Greetings,

I'm fairly good with fixing our computer problems, however I've run into an issue with our sound.

There is a big red X next to the sound icon in the systray. Under Playback tab of the Playback Devices menu, it lists Speakers with the SigmaTel HD Audio CODEC and says it is Working. I cannot set it as default or configure.

I've attempted uninstalling, reinstalling, letting Windows find the right CODEC and using one from Dell, but same thing over and over.

Any ideas?
