Hehe, that would be so awesome, never even thought of that:p

Well in the long run a liquid nitrogen cooling system, assuming you could just get the liquid nitrogen royalty free somehow...would save you money in the long run when you managed to double a higend P4's clockspeeds. Wonder how high a SanD FX 57 would go?
You you say Opterons OC higher than most Althons? Is there anything an Athlon is better at than an Opteron in particular?

No, not really. The regular old AMD-64's are the desktop line of CPUs though, and they tend to get a few more FPS in current games than opterons at the same clock speed despite the fact that opterons have more than twice the memory bandwidth. But Opterons rock on pretty much everything for anything other than gaming.

last off topic post (here anyway :p): My other plan is to get hold of 'Dry Ice' (Frozen CO2 [Carbon Dioxide]) if you put a load into a can of paint and the shove the lid back on the temp of the paint turns the co2 back into a gas very quickly, the lid of the paint can will get blown off (with a fair force) and paint will go flying around the room/car/front door step/whatever/where ever :p

Ps if you leave one of theese on a front door step and ring the bell (and run away) they will prolly stare at it long enuf for it to 'blow' and splatter them with paint :p

Wow, that's excellent. So are we talking about just a few frames or a noticable margin?

No he's saying Opterons aren't as good for gaming as Athlons.

Yeah that's why I asked whether the difference (in gaming) would be a few fps lower or would it be a noticeable difference.

The AMD Opteron is a powerful CPU for any purpose, so it's not a huge difference in FPS for gaming. But the Athlon64 is still the better performer for games, so I'm saying that if gaming is your system's #1 purpose, you'd still be better off with the (less expensive) Athlon64.

The Venus core is the better overclocker of the two.

Very good, and the price is right too. Stange how the OEM version of the dual-core I linked is way cheaper than retail.
