Hey, same computer as in the thread:

    http://www.hardwareforums.com/computer-problem-11131/

however, now the display wont load atall when i start up. When i hit the on button, it all whizzes into life, however, there is no system beep ( as there was before) and the display does not come on. My friend suggested getting a new CMOS battery, I took the old one out, and put it back in, and the display came on ONE time at startup. Does this suggest i need a new battery?

System date and time is the indication to change to CMOS battery. if they always fall back then it means battery is low and need replacement......

The battery is only good for about 5 years or so. Looks like you've cracked the problem!

You need a CR2032 battery and you can buy them off eBay for about £1
