Hi, happy bank holiday, hope you can help mine to be too. All answers more than welcome.

    PROBLEM:
I knocked together a PC at the weekend that booted once and now fails to. It is pretty bare bones so shouldnt take too long to troubleshoot. It doesnt work at all no POST or anything. The fan in the PSU starts for a brief second and then nothing.

It is a PentiumII in a slocket and has no fan just a fudge-off big heatsink. I think something may have overheated and blown as only the PSU fan was on. The memory is fine as i have swapped it into another one, i have also tried another PSU althought this one is V old and may not even work at all.

Any Ideas? It is strange that it doesnt even get to any bleeps etc. What do you all reckon is knackered?

PC - Old MoBo out of a gateway, PII 350, IBM 8.4GB, 64MB, Savage GFX.

Also Can you use a power supply that is too powerful? Im pretty sure not but it is 300W.

Check all the connections----an I mean everything. Also, you might wanna try taking the board out of the case and powering it on outside.
