    thats a bit too high lol.

    did you apply thermal paste?
    you might not of put the heatsink on properly, or maybe its just a faulty sensor.

    i have a pentium 4 1,8ghz o/c to 2,7ghz
    cpu idle temp: 35
    cpu load temp: 38
    system idle temp: 30
    system load temp: 36

    What are the risks in overclocking the cpu? Do they only apply if the cpu overheats or is given too much voltage?

    I applied some thermal paste
    so i am hoping that it is just a faulty sensor, as there is no lag or peformance changes, that i think woul be apparent if it was really 80 C
