My old computer I was thinking of using as a linux server (66 mhz, 3 gb master, 800 mb slave, CD-Rom). Just recently i dusted it off and such and decided to install windows 95 or 98 first so the linux installation would be easier and I would still have windows. Before I installed either of them I reformatted and partitioned to a MSDOS partition. Now when i try to install either it says you must have xxxxxx kb avaliabe (something like 700 megs) to install Windows 95/98. I've scandisked and everything. I don't know what could be wrong. I've tried switching the drives back and forth etc etc. What could be wrong?

Edit: Could it be that my old bios (near 1994 im guessing) won't detect a bigger hard drive? And thats why setup says i dont have enough HD space? Is there a way to bypass this? btw, the computer is a "Gateway 2000 66mhz".

Is the system properly displaying the size of the hard drive at POST?
