HIIIII Quick question fo you all.

Sorry about the lack of detail in this first post but if nobody can come up with a solution i will post back more details.

Basically my mate has just upgraded the memory in his PC. His mobo can handle 8GB max. He was using 2GB but when he upgraded to 4GB his computer wouldnt even power up, however remove one module and away it goes.

    Heres what's already been tried

    1) Each memory module tested and working
    2) Each memory slot tested and working
    3) CMOS Cleared
    4) Settings in bios checked

    Things left to try

    1) Flashing the Bios

I've hit a bit of a blank with this one because another guy i know as the exact same setup and that works fine

    Any input guys?

    Cheers Dave

Are you using the same memory modules in all slots?

What motherboard is it? What RAM modules are in use?

You may have to manually set the command rate to 2T (sometimes OFF) instead of 1T (sometimes ON). This would be a memory timing in BIOS with the rest of the memory timings. It's before the CAS latency and may have other names like Command Per Clock or CPC.
