What happened to this forum... the amount of spammers has definitely increased over the past year. I've seen the word "banned" a lot lately under some posts. Not to discriminate but a lot of these spammers seem to be comin' from India. They also seem to be reviving year old posts! :doh: Anyone feel the difference?
Most spammers seem to come from the east indeed, especially India and China. But I wouldn't say there are more spammers registering (I catch most of the spam), they're just getting smart. Basically they start posting like anyone would do, but after they get an X amount of posts they start spamming. That's why you see more threads with banned users, because we only remove posts which contain advertising, are offensive or don't comply with our policies.
Evolution, lol. I won't start hitting the "report" button sporadically, but i'll definitely keep a closer eye...
Tell me about it. They are everywhere, just now, I saw two in New Post. A software download and Mac capture whatever. I miss the real conversations here.
