Hi everyone, I'm dual booting Ubuntu with Windows 7. In Ubuntu, I can see and access my Windows partition as it shows up as a 'local disk' in Ubuntu. Great! Windows 7 and Ubuntu are both on my one hard drive (I partitioned it to accommodate Ubuntu). I would like to have access to my Ubuntu files from Windows 7. I have installed Samba and set share permissions, etc, but still cannot see Ubuntu from Windows. I have looked at various guides to set up Samba, but have had no luck. Can anyone give me a step by step easy to follow guides as to how to setup so I can see my Ubuntu files from Windows? Many thanks, David.
With Samba you need to have Ubuntu is running which obviously isn't possible when dual booting. I think something like this http://www.fs-driver.org/index.html (no mention of Windows 7) or http://www.ext2fsd.com/ should allow you to access files from windows 7.
