Microsoft have published their upgrade paths to Windows Vista. Unsuprisingly, there are no upgrade paths from the Windows 9x family

But what is surprising is that it will not be possible to upgrade Windows 2000 either! Users of Windows 2000 will have to back up their work and install a fresh copy of Windows Vista. A discounted Vista 'upgrade' CD will still be available though

Only Windows XP Home Edition users can upgrade to any Vista version they desire. XP Professional and MCE users can only upgrade to certain Vista versions.

No thanks, I already took an upgrade path. :)

[ot]I calculated what it would cost for myself and my wife to migrate from Linux to Windows the other day... the conservative estimate came to just over $1000 if we did it all legally. So much for TCO! Oh, and that doesn't account for my servers nor my firewall, BTW.[/ot]
