"Internet forum giant vBulletin has sued three former employees, a day before they were due to launch a competing forum-software platform via their new company, the UK-based XenForo." http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/10/05/vbulletin_sues_ex_employees/ Interesting... I wonder what justice came out of this.
"Xenforo has an excellent law firm that is making the case to get the California lawsuit dismissed due to a prior identical case that was filed in England first, he is also claiming that vB/IB did not have a right to unilaterally file an amended complaint without the court authorizing it first or ruling on XenForo motion to dismiss." I think this precedence case filing has been dismissed, unfortunately. Thanks for the link!
Xeno is slick, although I don't know about the admin side of things. I also like vBulletin (I've had experience with it on both sides). I'm not too crazy about phpBB so far as the control, although if it's free like I remember, that's certainly a good price if one is starting out with a forum of their own.
For any of you out there that are thinking of Xenforo then why don't you suck it and see for three days. http://xenforo.com/demo
