I have the same sound card as Big B in a frame above my bead. It might be younger though...its about 10 inches long!! I traded my friend's card for a floppy. haha. you know those big floppy drives that the floppy was bigger than a cd? i have one of those in storage year unknown...
Yeah they're 5¼ wide. I got a couple of those. My father has plenty of old computer parts, especially motherboards. I think he has an add-on card which is RAM. This card is huge and it's like 256k of ram or something lol.
i have a Voodoo Banshee 16mb, that still works! a Pentium 66mhz 8mb ram and what i believe is some sort of early network card.. looks like a SCSI controller (the size of it is huge) i also have a unbranded cd-rom drive that i believe is 1 or 2 x speed, when u eject the drive, a detachable compartment comes out.. where u can fit 4 cd's at one time in.. the computer is supposed to then cycle through but i never got it to work..
extreme made me think about something. I'm sure I still have an old 2400 bps modem somewhere. I also have an old 2x cd-rom drive, which needs its own controller card to work. I wonder if I still have my 386. First pc game I've ever played is X-Wing, and it was a damn good game !
i have several sticks of 1mb RAM and a 40 megabyte hard disk (i think its 40megs) they still work, but not too much point with a gig of pc3200, lol. times have changed so much...ah, being all nostalgic here.
i had a stick of 1mb ram just for fun. didnt use it but it was fun to look at and poke and prod things with. one of the computers my brother snagged from my high school had 4 sticks of 1mb ram a 1x drive and onboard 14.4k!!!
oh yeah, speaking of old hardware - a Pentium 100Mhz still works with XP and 512Megs of RAM. lol. http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/20030217/index.html
I think I have all of you beat...I have a Digital Dec 5 Workstation from the 70's. It's running on a 9" green-matrix monitor with a mouse the size of a hockey puck and a keyboard that is so yellow i swear someone peed on it. Oh, I also have a 2400bps external Modem, and my favorite, a still-functional reel-to-reel reader for my DigiDec5.
Welcome, Guru9756 hehe, got any pics, interested in seeing what it looks like I wasn't even born then!
Someone mentioned Wolfenstein earlier. I remember when I first got DOOM on my 486 it came on one floppy. Then came DOOM 2 which was like on 8 damn floppies lol.
