    Hello, fellow HWF members/guests!

As the title is suggesting, I'm trying to start off a thread for the upcoming (release is cheduled to be tomorrow - the 5th of November) of the very much anticipated COD4:MW. It would be interestning to get some feedback, issues (performance, stability, whatever) and/or anything else you've got to say about it (no reviews, though - there's a dedicated branch in HWF for this purpose). :D

I'm not really interested in COD4. The COD games are shooters in WW2. But COD4 is completely different. It's something like Ghost Recon or Rainbox Six.
[ot]It's like GTA without the ability to steal cars[/ot]
I personally liked the previous parts (COD 1-3) because I like WW2 shooters. But the last part is really different.

yeah, but how many times can you do WWII, its been WAY overdone, that said, i think its going to be absolutely sweet, the demo was amazing and i can't wait to pick it up today. On a side note, its going to be sweet, cause its a modern day shooter made by the people who make CoD, so its going to be sweet.

cool. I recommend this to everyone who liked all the prev CODs (for the PC that is, I can't say anything about those console versions).

Yeah, i'm having this issue rate now. For an FPS, there is nothing better than a mouse, but at the same time, i have a lot of "friends i play with over the PS network, so that would be sweet to, i dunno, prolly just end up getting both.

I haven't played it on PC - I've just completed it on PS3 though, my flatmate has it and lent it to me as he was doing some work, only took me about 5 hours to go through the Single-Player mode. There's still the online modes though, so that'll provide a lot of fun if I decide to buy my own copy.

I loved it, I thought it looked amazing, and I was overjoyed when doing the AC130 Spectre Gunship mission :D that was insane! Looked so real, I did feel a little sadistic when doing it :p

Yeah, well i decided, when i feel like it, i'm going to get it for the PC. Kinda made up a decision as well, with a game as good as CoD 4, i can't not have the mouse and keyboard for controls. So yeah

    -Is COD4 DX9 or DX10???

-what are the requirements in order to play it with everything on full?

it plays okay on mine. medium settings were quite playable.

i don`t know whether it can be run on DX10 - at least I didn`t see any settings or any pointers to DX10 anywhere.

as for running everything maxed out - a system at least twice as good as mine (prob exept for the ram amount - just the speed of it).

I downloaded the demo and i put everything on max and it plays fine only when there are a load of soldiers (20+) attacking does it go really lagy and i have a 7900gs, you can look at the rest of my rig. I think thats really good for a game of such high quality can run so nicely on my rig. The models look so good alot of detail and the maps great too. If i dare say this i think its better then crysis :x:

hmmm, well i finally got it... and i'm a little disappointed. I don't really like the whole rank thing, and most of the maps are really crowded, like very narrow alleyways, and in the roads theres more crap, its crazy. I dunno, maybe its just nostalgia from the previous CoD games but i dunno. Granted the single player campaign was sweet, thats was worth it for sure, as short as it was, i actually played through it twice. That said, they kinda tweaked the controls to, like the aiming system is a little different. To me it doesn't feel as crisp as CoD 2 did. I dunno, maybe i just need to play it more often, but thus far, i prefer CoD 2 over CoD 4.

considering the short SP campaing, I hope for a mission pack/expansion to follow :D -- but I'm concerned about it because the story was kinda closed...
