Upgrade- Do I or Dont I

    Newbie that knows enough to be dangerous... I have had this system for some time now and it seems to run OK- I was looking at upgrading but was not sure if or where to start. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance for your help...

    Processor- AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 2.6GHz
    Asus A8V-E Deluxe Motherboard
    3GB Memory(RAM)
    Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition- Video Card
    Creative SD x-Fi extreme Music- Sound Card
    2 Seagate Hard drives ST300

    If you have 3 gig of ram, then I see nothing wrong with what you have... that should be a good running machine...

    if its not struggling to do the things you want, then there's no reason to upgrade.

    The x850 is a decent card. So unless you are having problems with Hi Def or Blue Ray or possibly some gaming in the latest titles, you haven't got too much reason to upgrade. Sure you could rebuild your whole rigg and get alot more performance, but I doubt it would be worth it atm. Upgrading to the best for the least money would mean switching to an Intel board and cpu and getting an updated gpu.
