I recently blew up my video card. Just wondering what would give me better performance for my $$.
I have the option of running 2 cheaper cards with x-fire (9800 gt's) or picking up one card that is a little better. Any insight?

Well, couple things first. Nvidia cards don't run in crossfire. They run in SLI. And you need to make sure you have a board that supports that, ie: 650i, 680i, 750i, 780i, 790i, ect. Then, the performance of SLI vs. a single board solution varies upon the cards you have in mind. You said that two 9800 GTs would be your SLI option, so I'm guessing that a 260 or 280 would be your single card solution. But without more information it would be difficult to help you. Can you fill in the specifics, please?

    SLI is correct.
The board is an Asus M2N SLI
9800 GT's would be my cheapest option for SLI
I'd say a XFX GTX 260 would be my single card of choice

Personally I would go with the single 260. The reason being drivers. Some games still give poor performance for SLI solutions. Not to mention that you could always throw another 260 in to SLI on a later date.

    Thank you sir.
A point I failed to consider; I can always grab a 2nd down the road.
