HELP! I have a problem with my laptop Acer EXTENSA 5635GT - Intel dual core 2.10ghz, 3gb RAM, Windows 7 OS. The problem is that it suddenly became very slow. When I try to open any folder - it takes more time than normal. I can't do anything. Like the processor is 500mhz. I remeber my AVG showed a notification that she found Trojan horse in "odbc.exe". Is it something about it?! Also, there is a notification that my battery needs changing, but I don't use it. I tried system restore, but there are no control points. I looked all over the laptop but it doesnt seem to be overheating. Please, help me :( :( :( :(

What do you mean you DON"T charge your battery ?If your laptop has a Trojan, Then you better remove it.. If you have a smart Virus , Then you will have a BIG problem.. It sounds like your laptop needs a good cleaning,Run Anti virus and remove all Viruses /Trojans.. Install SuperAntispyware Free version and update and scan...
Next you need a program called CCleaner, Next you will need a good Registry cleaner, Like Registry Easy.. Last, DEFRAG...

I didn't mean I don't charge my battery.. I wanted to say that I don't need it. If there is no problem to run my laptop without the battery (but pluged in contact of course..), I can do it.
I tried running anti virus scan, but after the first minute the scan speed drops. It scans one file per minute - like it's size is 1gb.. Maybe I need 24 hours to scan completely my laptop.
I used Frontline Registry Cleaner and it cleaned many errors, but didnt fix my problem.

Sounds like a Virus/Trojan has taken over.. Remove AVG and install Avast free... AVG is Bloatware now and Takes way too long to scan..
Install SuperAntispyware and update then run...

I used Malwarebytes and it detected 2 Trojans Vundo and 10 other adwares. I removed them, but the problem still exists

Hate to tell you ,but it sounds like a Smart virus..Do you have any software that came with this laptop ? recovery CD !!!
If it is a smart virus, Then try to back up all most important files / software and RUN the recovery...

You mean ONLY the free versions slow down your computer,,,Hymmmm ok , If you say so......ALL ANTI VIRUS SLOWS DOWN YOUR COMPUTER...specially when updating or scanning... What do you do, work for Kaspersky..??? Avast free version is VERY GOOD..

Johhny : You will not get a Virus from a Named Anti Virus Server, Who told you this ??? Anti virus is a Matter of choice, I have working on Computers now for 20 years and I Build them / repair them / and tune them/And clean them... I have seen a Virus come through on every single Anti virus that has been used, I have cleaned the aftermaths of trojans and Smart viruses, There is NO single Anti Virus that I have not tried and Buying and brand name one's will ONLY slow down your computer..
Most of the Brand name Anti Viruses are Bloat hogs.. So, like I said it comes down to a matter of choice....

Your Opinion is more than welcome, And I would say you made a good choice in Anti viruses, Kaspersky is ONE of the best In my Opinion, But I don't care for Internet Security's, most of them become Bloat hogs and then slow down your computer....
