    tcp/ip

I'll try and absorb this tomorrow at work. You wouldn't believe I work for a hosting company, would you? :P I've still got so much more to learn. Luckily for the customers, my job is to help them with the more administrative side of things, and not technical...

Wireless issue - cannot establish new connections suddenly

Hi guys, Thanks for the suggestions. I wasn't alerted that any more responses were posted, so unfortunately I didn't get to try the suggestions in the last two or three posts while the problem was occurring again. Figures it's a DNS thing. During the time I changed my DNS servers to those...

Wireless issue - cannot establish new connections suddenly

Well I can see why it would cause some confusion. Having the same measurement name for two different things is just asking for trouble.

Wireless issue - cannot establish new connections suddenly

That's only in reference to radio frequency radiation bands. Whilst Hertz are indeed used to measure radio frequency, Hertz is just the same measurement name for a different thing when it comes to CPU's.

Sure thing :) I'll upload it the moment I get a result.

Wireless issue - cannot establish new connections suddenly

2.4ghz is the stock speed for all E6600's, and a quite a few other processors - If the CPU frequency somehow did have anything to do with the stability of wireless connections, almost everyone with a CPU operating at 2.4ghz would share the same problems. 2.4 - 2.5ghz is a common modern wireless...

Wireless issue - cannot establish new connections suddenly

Definitely misreading it :P Okay, lets say you're connected to a router wirelessly. Problems start occuring where you cannot establish any new connections, yet connections currently maintained are still fine (so if you were logged into MSN messenger, you'll still be logged into MSN messenger...

Wireless issue - cannot establish new connections suddenly

Hi Anti-Trend, Both wireless and ethernet are being provided by the same router. Donkey - I have tried changing channels previously, but this doesn't stop the problem from happening. I think there was another member called NeoFoster too... made me consider signing up again under a different...

Wireless issue - cannot establish new connections suddenly

What I mean is that whenever the problem occurs (It's intermittent (sp?)), if I connect to my router via ethernet cable, it's as if there are absolutely no problems whatsoever (wireless still running too) - but when I unplug the ethernet cable, it's back to the problems again (wireless alone) -...

Wireless issue - cannot establish new connections suddenly

Ahoy, In that case, we're using the same DNS server. I'll try using a public DNS server for a while and see if that solves things. My housemate doesn't use the internet half as much as I do - so it might be that he's not experiencing the problems because he hasn't spent enough time browsing to...

Wireless issue - cannot establish new connections suddenly

Hi guys, Many thanks for the suggestions. I have now added a new registry entry to set the max number of negative entries in the DNS cache to 0. I have also executed "ipconfig /flushdns" - so I'll see how that goes. However, if the problem does lie within the negative dns entries...

Wireless issue - cannot establish new connections suddenly

Hi all, I used to post on these boards and do my best to help out with hardware issues... and now hopefully you guys can help me out with a very strange issue I've been encountering recently :) I'll try and fill you in with as much information as possible. Okay, so here's the specs...

    recording software and graphics

If you're using the soundcard which comes with your PC in the first place, you're out of luck - it's not a pro soundcard and is designed for normal music playback etc. - It's fine for gaming, listening to MP3's and DVD sound, but music production is far beyond its capabilities. If you've bought...

    Everquest 2 Problems

That's probably down the the V-Sync synchonising it with the 60hz refresh rate of the monitor.

Pre-release Vista copy coming my way

But if this laptop is one from a manufacturer (Well, it'd be hard not to be from a manufacturer being a laptop), removing the OS it came with and installing a different one causes problems unimaginable. For example, people rang me up at my previous workplace with manufacturered PC's/laptops...

    Everquest 2 Problems

But that's impossible if people with lower end PC's can run EQ2 perfectly. I've gathered a ton of info about it and it turns out that EQ2 simply doesn't get along with high-end systems. The newest Nvidia card at the time of EQ2's release was the 6800 range and the latest ATI card release was the...

    What do you guys think?

Looks good to me, although with todays games and DX10 around the corner, You'd probably need 2GB of RAM and the 640mb version of the 8800GTS. The RAM you stated is fast but if your RAM usage exceeds the 1024mb mark (Which it will with todays latest games), anything else you load goes into the...

    Blue Smear

Hello Tom, This is more than likely a mechanical fault, although I'd advise to remove ink cartridge/s and put them back in again in case the problem lies within the alignment of the catridge/s. If it's in its first year, Canon deal with the repair of their printers. Their number should be...

im confused please give me a bit of help

Looks to me like they're cards designed for some kind of server that can utilize extra processing power via PCI/PCI-E... There was once upon a time when all computer components were on their own card and slotted into a large mobo... Perhaps this is a similar technology? Regards, Mike

    recording software and graphics

Packard Bell iMedia PC's have an awful tendancy to have rubbish graphics cards as standard. Ones that can only just run a DVD at full framerates etc. - I recently quit my job working for their support centre. However, what I'm interested in is which sound card you're using? Is it the one that...
