    Everquest 2 Problems

This is also happening with me too, and both our rigs are perfectly capable of running it on at least high quality settings... Will's card is ATI, mine is Nvidia, so we know it's not something relating to one manufacturer in particular. I read up on various forums, seems there's an Nvidia...

    Reboot Fails

From this we can tell it's not an issue with your Windows installation since it happens in the BIOS... I'd usually say we're looking at a power issue, but if that were the case, why would it power up at all in the first place... Therefore this is very likely to be a motherboard issue... Check...

Pre-release Vista copy coming my way

Feel free to do so, I'll always do my best to help, but a biiiiig phrase to remember with Vista is "Hardware incompatability" - Cause chances are you'll install a digital camera and it just won't work... If you come accross anything like that, check the hardware manufacturers website for any...

"I can't hear the wheel inside grinding" Only you guys could comprehend how hard it must've been for me to stop myself from laughing on the phone a minute ago when someone said that to me

    dead computer

Try an ATX Reset - Remove power cable and peripherals, hold power button down for about 30 seconds, release it, plug power cable in only, and try to start it up... If this still doesn't work, it's a dead mobo.

    Screen Going crazy!!!(shaking, flipping?)

Does this happen outside of Windows (POST screen with all the letters and numbers at the very start when you turn your machine on)? Also, does it happen in Safe Mode? Keep tapping F5 straight away after you press the power button to turn it on, select safe mode from the menu, select your...

    Goddamn Punkbuster

Here's something interesting you could try. It applies to the game FEAR but you might be able to find a config or .ini files in the BFV directory. Hope this helps If it isn't solved by the end of my work shift I'll install BFV when I get home and have a look myself and see if I can find...

    Goddamn Punkbuster

Have you downloaded any later versions of PunkBuster from the internet and tried installing that seperately to BFV? For example, don't tick PunkBuster in BFV installation, and instead, download the latest version from a site somewhere and install it on its own. Alternatively, do a system...

Saving drivers to an ext HD to reload after formatting?

Have you not tried to select to update the driver in Device Manager for the soundcard and have it search the directory the driver exists in? When installing my USB cable modem I do it that way, it finds the correct driver which is simply a file in a folder of the installation CD. I can't see...

My computer delays to switch on.

Could possibly point to a motherboard issue... try an ATX reset - disconnect power, hold power button down for about 25 seconds, reconnect power, and boot. Also try removing all peripherals and using power only - watch the HDD light flicker for a short while and then come to a halt - this means...

    suspected RAM problem

Is this issue still unresolved? There's another memory test http://hcidesign.com/memtest/ which runs in windows. Nothing to do with memtest86. This has always worked for me, spotted memory errors right away with my last RAM... Doesn't require booting from a disc or anything, works in Windows...

I said that because I solved the problem myself straight after posting. The apology is for all the people who read right the way through the first post only to see that I'd solved it already in the next post...

Genius that I am, edited the boot.ini and it detected an invalid OS installation so erased it. Sorry for wasting your time guys! Mike

Problem with booting Windows XP from first boot device

Hi all, I recently installed Vista (Loving it, packed to the rim with diagnostic features that will make my work life far easier) but it seemed to have gone and corrupted my XP installation on my other HDD even though it wasn't connected (I suspect due to some anti-piracy attempt, Vista...
