I briefly tried nTune. Every time I tried to overclock something, I got an error messege of some kind or there just wasn't any (noticable) gain. Haven't tried Soft FSB yet but it's something I may give a try.

Your card may have become slightly dislodged and needs to be inserted correctly. A friend of mine had a similar problem and all I did was that and it was fine after that.

Yeah, I'd say your m/b seems like the faulty bit here. I had the same trouble a while back and when I got a new m/b, all was well. But that was when I didn't realise that static in your body can blow your m/b ... I quickly bought an anti-static wristband! lol

It's ok ... sorted it now! Turns out that the texture detail had set itself to low in the ATI control panel without me knowing!

If you look at the attatched screenshot from Half-Life 2, the textures look really flat, especially on the handlebar things. I don't seem to recall them being like that before I changed my 9600XT for an X800 XL. Are they normally like this or could it be a card issue? All the graphics...

I've just got me a DFI LANParty NF4 m/b with an Athlon 64 3200 CPU running XP Pro. For some reason, Windows hates me for trying to overclock. Even if I crank up the FSB up to 201 (from 200), I get blue screen stop messages (IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_OR_LESS etc) after Windows has finished starting up...

Well, I got everything now but because of price, availability and good reviews, I went with a Tagan 480w unit. I was going to try my 380w unit but it only had a 20-pin m/b connector and my DFI NF4 is a 24-pin. All set up now and everything runs smoothly and I have headroom for future upgrades...

Not very far ... if your RAM's faulty, it usually goes BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP (well, for me it does!) after a couple of seconds.
