Anybody ever had to have a laptop dvd/cd-rw replaced or repaired before. How much is the likely cost? Mine is giving up the ghost on my IBM R32, sometimes it takes up to 10 reboots to recognise it's even there, and other times I put the cd in and it kind of starts up, but nothing happens...

Ummm... not sure. In short, I'm using an IBM R32 laptop, which is acting up. It takes an age to boot up - although I know laptops take longer than pc's - and half of the time it doesn't recognise my dvd/cd-rw at all. Then, when I've been using it for a while, its just kind of stop playing...
