Ok, today I ran this MS Baseline Security Analyzer (worthless app but I figured I'd give it a try) and it comes up with 4 user accounts. I only knew about 3, the admin account, my personal one, and the guest account. The last one is called (digits blanked out due to possible security problem) "SUPPORT_338*****." Is this some BS feature installed by MS or has somebody hacked my computer and installed a user account? i don't know of any hacker with half a brain that would add a user acocunt, but it is listed as disabled and does not show up in the Welcome Screen. I would ask MS about this but because XP x64 is OEM I only get 1 support call/email, then it costs $35 to get support. I can use that one but I figured I would save it for later if I could.
That's the remote support account. You can disable it to prevent logons from that account, along with remote session support in general. Usually if you're compromised the cracker will use your account, if it's an administrator account.
Yea I used to hack, so I didn't think i had been hacked, didn't feel like it. I just wasn't knowledgable about that feature. I just went into computer management and figured that out when it said this beside description, "This is a vendor's account for the Help and Support Service". Well, thanks anyway.
