ASUS Motherboard(HELP PLEASE)

Hi all i am fixing a friends comp cuz he got told his motherboad went down when i put his new board in it runs but the monitor does not boot in ???
the G card works fine in another comp and i have since found that both boards do the same thing NOT BOOT THE MONITOR IN ?????

HELP PLEASE AS THIS WILL KILL ME SOON :D

board that was in asus A7V8X

new board same but bit diffrent asus A7V8X-X
G card AGP

what do you mean by NOT BOOT IN THE MONITER?
do you mean the computer starts but you see only a black screen?
